Everest Re Group, Ltd. (NYSE: RE) announced today that it has promoted Daryl Bradley to President of its U.S. Insurance operating subsidiaries, effective immediately.

HAMILTON, Bermuda - August 8, 2007 - Everest Re Group, Ltd. (NYSE: RE) announced today that it has promoted Daryl Bradley to President of its U.S. Insurance operating subsidiaries, effective immediately. These operations include Everest National Insurance Company, Everest Indemnity Insurance Company and Everest Security Insurance Company.

Commenting on Bradley's promotion, Thomas J. Gallagher, President and Chief Operating Officer of Everest Re Group, said, "Daryl has been pivotal to the successful development of our U.S. Insurance arm, which has grown from $70 million in 1999 to more than $800 million today. We are fortunate to have someone of Daryl's caliber on our team who is capable of continuing to execute on our strategic objectives for this division."

Mr. Bradley joined Everest in 1995 and has held increasingly more responsible positions in the underwriting area of the Company. Most recently he held the position of Executive Vice President of Underwriting, Marketing and Operations for the group's U.S. Insurance operations. Prior to joining Everest, Mr. Bradley held various underwriting positions at Continental Insurance Company and Fireman's Fund Insurance Company.
